Route en Route: February 13, 2013 – February 27, 2013

From February 13th to February 27th the ICAA partnered with a series of organizations in Hamilton, including MATAPA Music and Arts Organization, to support a two week multi-disciplinary festival which celebrated Black History Month in a variety of locations throughout Hamilton. Matapa Presents: ‘World Music Series: Botswana meets Six Nations’ – November 24, 2012

On November 24th, 2012 the Matapa Music and Arts Organization hosted a wonderful concert in partnership with the ICAA and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. The event fused the lyrical talents of Botsawana’s Trinity Theohang and First Nations’ Cheri Maracle.

South Asian Musical Instruments Exhibit: November 9, 2012 – November 16, 2012

The ICAA received funds from Citizenship Immigration Canada (CIC) to execute the South Asian Musical Instruments Exhibit in partnership with the Malhar Group from November 9th, 2012 to November 16th, 2013. A total of 42 volunteers put forth efforts to organize this wonderful display of multiculturalism which highlighted the rich traditions and histories of 25 South Asian musical instruments. Hamilton Art Market: June 25, 2012 – August 25, 2012

From June 25th, 2012 to August 25th, 2012 the ICAA hosted the 6th Annual Hamilton Art Market (HAM) which was funded by the City of Hamilton and the Ontario Arts Council. The HAM provided 44 local artists and one international artist from the Netherlands the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artistic works between Ferguson Avenue North and King Street East. Hamilton Youth Conference – February 25, 2012

On February 25, 2012 the ICAA hosted the Hamilton Youth Conference from 10:00am to 4:00pm and provided newcomer and immigrant youth between the ages of 14 to 21 to hear motivational speakers and engage in discussions where they could share the cultural barriers they face as new Canadians in Hamilton. Professional Art Education – Registration for Spring/Summer Semester

On April 14th, 2012 the ICAA held a reception for the registration of the Professional Art Education's Spring/Summer semester. The event was held from 11:00am to 2:00pm at 51 Stuart Street. This semester the Professional Art Education program offers drawing, pottery and dance classes every Saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
